Enjoy the carnival themed wedding

I see beautiful weddings on blogs all of the time, and love seeing all the little details of how a couple makes the event "their own." I first spotted this carnival wedding on a blog, and the only words I could think of to describe it were "totally awesome." I think it is the sweetest, most clever wedding theme and execution I have seen in a long time...and let's face it, the ferris wheel sealed the deal for me.
A modern wedding theme that we're just adoring right now has your guests having fun at the fair.  Reminiscent of old fashioned carnivals with the focus on fun, this playful wedding theme means that your wedding guests will be treated not only to a romantic wedding day but a day filled with thrills and charm at every step.

Wedding Invitations

Set the theme for your carnival wedding with fun filled wedding invitations that include a circus font in bright colours.  Motifs you might like to use include popcorn (he popped the question, afterall), bunting flags, carousels or cotton candy.  You can really be playful with your invitations by including "carnival tickets" personalised with your wedding details or access to your wedding reception as part of the invitation.

Wedding Accessories & Dress

A carnival wedding is playful and less formal, so the bride may choose to wear a cocktail length gown or one that is calf length to show her novelty and charm.  For the boys, you could include a coloured or sequined bow tie, which isn't too over the top and adds just a hint of sparkle.  For the bridesmaids, consider gowns in colours that reflect the fun fair - bright primary colours like red, yellow and blue make a sweet statement for this theme.
For your wedding accessories, you could include brightly coloured party balloons instead of traditional bouquets for the bridesmaids and flower girls.  Bright confetti makes a sweet alternative to rose petals and aisle decorations could include bright lanterns tied to the back of seats.

Wedding Decorations

Think bright primary colours - sunny yellow, ocean blue and tomato red - and add a few extra colours if you like to be super sparkly!  For decorating, think circus party as your feel, but taken to a much more sophisticated place.  Brightly coloured party balloons filled with heium gas, bunched together with satin ribbons.  Confetti in pretty colours scattered along the edges of your outdoor aisle instead of rose petals.  Your venue for your reception, if not at Luna Park, would ideally be in a beautiful big marquee with the centrepieces on your tables being big bulbous balloons draped with satin ribbons, scattered tables with confetti and brightly coloured paper party lanterns and party bunting strung across the ceilings.

Wedding Food and Drinks

Your wedding menu can be playful also!  Think about all the fun food you used to love at the carnival in your youth - fairy floss, popcorn, ice cream, chips in paper, Dagwood Dogs and toffee apples.  Noone ever said wedding food needed to be healthy!  Serve up a buffet of these fun filled foods and your guests will delight in the memories of their youth.
For your drinks, consider brightly coloured cocktails and punch.  You might like to include some Cosmopolitans for red, blue curacao cocktails and your own signature cocktails for guests.  A big bowl of punch adds to the party atmosphere and guests will delight in thoughts of their formals, proms and other high school nights.

Wedding Cake

Bring the carnival to your cake by choosing a novelty cake that has lopsided layers and fun, brightly coloured decorations.  You might like to tone down the clown by having a brightly striped or polka dotted cake, or taking the theme to the extreme with a circus themed cake.

Entertainment and Music

Instead of traditional music at your wedding, why not hire entertainers instead?  What were your favourite carnival activities?  There are plenty of party hire companies with fun jumping castles (imagine the wonderful photos you'll enjoy of your guests jumping in their finest gear), clown ball games, fortune tellers and photo booths you can hire without breaking the budget.

Wedding Favours & Bomboniere

Send guests home with a party bag reminiscent of their youth.  We love the candy striped red and white party bags from Pink Frosting filled with childhood sweets and lollies for your guests to enjoy.  For a super-fun idea, why not give guests a miniature Double Bubble Gumball Machine wedding favour filled with yummy authentic gumballs.

What should I wear to a beautiful summer wedding

If you’re invited to a beautiful summer wedding, you must consider what to wear. Here are some fashion ideas to wear to an upcoming summer wedding.

1. Choose a suitable style. For an informal summer wedding, a light, breezy sundress in a pastel shade or a floral print will not only look stylish but will be comfortable as well. Pair your dress with some open toed sandals in a light color and a simple clutch bag in a matching shade. You’ll look great and elegant for the big event. Another more formal alternative is to pair a long slim skirt with a loose, breezy summer top. Add a fashionable belt and some simple jewelry  to complete Bridesmaid Dresses the look.
2. Decide how formal you want your dress to be.If the wedding is to be held in the evening, you’ll probably be expected to wear more formal attire such as a long dress. Otherwise, unless the invitation specifically mentions formal or white tie, you have the option of wearing a shorter dress or skirt. If in doubt, try to get an idea from the bride or from friends how formal the wedding is to be.
3. Choose a suitable color.
Pastel shades of pale pink, peach, or yellow can be flattering for a summer wedding. If you favor neutrals, try wearing shades of light taupe or beige or light, dove gray. Stay away from white or black. You don’t want to upstage the bride or look like you’re going to a funeral.
4. Go light on the makeup.A fresh, clean look is good for a summer wedding. Leave off the heavy lipstick Flower Girl Dresses and apply a pale, shimmering gloss to keep lips moist and shiny. Be sure to wear a sunscreen if you’ll be outdoors but go light on the foundation or wear a light coating of powder instead. Keep your eye makeup light and use a waterproof mascara if you cry at weddings. The look for a summer wedding should be light, airy, and unpretentious.
5. Choose suitable jewelry.A summer wedding isn’t the time to pile on the heavy jewelry and earrings that stretch your ear lobes. When wearing light, breezy clothing, keep your jewelry simple and elegant. Simple pearl earrings paired with a single strand necklace and a pearl pendant will be flattering without being cumbersome.
